Meeting Freedom
You know, usually in my posts I just write about my experiences and my feelings, although this time is a bit different....
Today, as I walked into the shelter, I was met by a good friend, and we started working together, but little did I know that I was actually going to make a new friend—a pet friend.
So as the time passed and we were almost done with our work, me and Vita walked into the last room, the "Black Cat" room. While everything seemed normal, as I sat down to pet the cats, Freedom came up to me and laid back down next to me.

A photo of the shelter cat Freedom
A white cat with black spots on her body, making her look a bit like a panda or a cat, was found on February 16th, the day of the restoration of the state of Lithuania. That's the Freedom that came to me.
While I sat there with her next to me, petting her for at least 30 minutes, I was able to get to know another one of our shelter pets and fall in love with her.
And that's how this volunteering experience allowed me to realise that I need to go and spend more time actually getting to know other shelter animals as well, not just the ones I'm already used to.
