CAS Project Reflection

Austeja Simaityte

During the last 3 months, our group created and executed our CAS project, which consisted of two main parts: the step challenge and the hike.

The whole process of working in a group with people with whom I get along very well was so easy and enjoyable that the preparation time passed in seconds, and in my opinion, it was very successful, allowing us to set realistic goals, expectations, and plans for their achievement.

Talking about the step challenge 'Lyceum One Thousand', it went pretty smoothly, without any misunderstandings or too many difficulties, just proving our great teamwork abilities and communication, at least for this part of the challenge, as the participant count was above 40 (10 more than we expected).

While the real difficulties shone through during the organisation of the Lyceum hike, as the first planned date did not get enough participants, after that, we changed up our whole marketing strategy, allowing the event to reach a wider audience, although due to unexpected circumstances, there was a need to change the date again. The event at first had more than 10 participants, but only 7 showed up.

Even though the participant count for the final hike was not that high, I'm still happy with the number reached, as we needed to change the date to a really busy week when a lot of people have exams. The hike itself was very delightful because of the sunny weather and the scenery.

Overall, I would say that our CAS project was successful and achieved its purpose of enabling more Lyceum community members to spend their time actively. While the work in our group and the organisation behind the project was very enjoyable, efficient, and successful as well.
