Blues & Whites

Updated: Nov 5, 2024

Have you ever tried to capture the essence of a place on your nails? For my recent trip to Greece, I wanted a design that was simple yet full of charm—a look that would match my outfits and still stand out on its own.

My first thought was to go straight to Greece’s signature colors: blue and white, inspired by the iconic sea views and the whitewashed buildings of the islands. But I wanted something more than just colors. As I was browsing through ideas, I kept coming back to those delicate floral patterns you see on Greek pottery, like the intricate designs on porcelain plates and mugs.

I wanted to include a mix of solid blue and white nails paired with tiny floral accents. The floral details being a nod to traditional Greek ceramics, keeping the look fresh and elegant while still capturing the feel of Greece, which is why I sketched out this design:

The whole design only took around half an hour to complete, but it turned out even better than I’d imagined! The blue and white are so crisp and classic, and the small floral patterns add that little extra touch of detail without being too much. Now, I’m set with nails that feel both timeless and totally Greek, ready to match the vibe of the Mediterranean.

Tips & Comments

- It's better to apply a thinner layer of nail polish than a thicker one.

- Start out with the simpler nail designs and only then move on to the harder ones.
